USAFA has calculated my GPA to be 4.17 which stayed the same from the one my counselor reported. However, this is relatively a lower GPA among the students at my school and I was wondering what a good GPA is to be academically qualified for USAFA? Thank you for your responses!

Hi AH_IWTBP!

This doesn't fully answer your question, but my GPA calculated by USAFA differs from yours by .01. I was offered an appointment on the 30th. However, I have been told that class rank matters more than GPA. USAFA does take into account the type of school you go to. For example, if you go to a prep school where every student has above a 4.0, it will be taken into account and might even help you out.

Also, remember that USAFA also places emphasis on test scores, leadership positions, etc.

Hope this helps a little bit.

Good luck. I hope to see you next year!

How/where are you finding out what the USAFA calculated your GPA's? Is it the ALO providing back that feedback? My DS hasn't received such information.

It is listed on their portal under academic performance.

A USAFA adjusted and posted gpa of 4.0 can definitely, without a doubt, get you an appointment. Unfortunately, any one of 100 other factors could influence the board to pass an applicant by.

Just do your best in everything you do.
