What is life at West Point like?

I'm just trying to get a general idea of how life is at the academy, and what happens on a daily basis.

There is so much to say, a thread is not very efficient for that. Just google "day in the life of west point" and there are a ton of good links. Stick to www.usma.edu for the most reliable stuff.
 
Just out of curiosity, what's the average sleep time for a Plebe? First semester of college, I averaged about 4-5 hours a night except for weekends when I got a solid 6-7.
 
Depends on you, It's better to get 6 to 7 hours of sleep than it is to do a reading because you pick up more info in class.
 
Every cadet I have spoken with has said that they got less and less sleep with each passing year at WP. So while they felt so sleep deprived as new cadets, they realized in hind sight that they got more sleep then than they got in later years.
 
It also depends on major, amount of classes, efficiency during off hours, and other obligations. It actually gets easier and easier after a while because the adjustment to lack of sleep. Most people make up the sleep on the weekend anyway.
