I am very interested in attending West Point in fact its my dream school and I wanted to know what my chances of getting in are.
  • As of now I'm a junior and am living overseas in Saudi Arabia.
  • I have a gpa of 3.7 and a sat score of 1220. I also had one c.
  • I have been on honor roll all years of HS
  • I have lettered in varsity sports for cross country, track, wrestling, basketball, volleyball, and have played jv soccer and waterpolo.
  • I am a part of MUN, and student council and other small clubs such as habitat for humanity, chess club, Health and Nutrition Club, and astrology club .
  • Won lots of awards and medals in both Clubs and sports, Sportsmanship, Excellence, Top Delegate, etc.
  • I have lead some service projects and am an eagle scout.
  • I'm a part of yearbook and newspaper as but am not a part of NHS(have to have 3.85 ).
  • I have taken a total of 8 advanced courses and plan on taking two more next year.
  • I have met with General Hagler about letters of recommendation and other high ranking members of the Army and Embassy in Saudi Arabia as well as trying to set a meet up with Ambassador Abizaid who used to be the commandant of cadets at West Point.
  • I have also captained 4 sports teams and plan on more as a senior.
  • I have interned for the US army in Saudi Arabia and have been told they would be happy to write me letters of recommendation.
  • I was a lifeguard for a summer and plan on getting another job this summer.
  • Over 100 hours of service including trips to Thailand
  • Leader in church
  • Got into Boys State
Overall I just want an honest assessment and advice for areas of improvement.

Great resume! I advise taking the SAT again, usually people do better the 2nd time. Leadership is heavily weighted, next year run for officer positions in some of the clubs your in, even if that means cutting back in how many clubs you partake in.

Impressive resume-- I recommend raising your GPA and SAT score (which are very important, and you luckily have time as a junior).

Be sure to maintain physical fitness for your Candidate Fitness Assessment and rehearse interviews. For a service academy, you'll have to do interviews more than once.

Very nice resume!
But it's really depend on which region you are applying from.
Some regions are very competitive and you may need the SAT over 1400.
Keep trying to take more SAT and ACT.
Good luck!

Strong resume...advice (using WCS Weighting):
- Academics (60% of WCS): Make A's from now on. Get SAT Score above 1300. Take ACT (w/Writing Sub). Consider Tutoring
- Leadership (30%) - Strong. More officer positions might help a bit, you look good.
- CFA (10%) - Practice each event, do full practice event - and kick butt on the "for the record" CFA

- Nominations - Apply for all MOC and service-connected noms possible.
- Interviews - PRACTICE!

You're looking good - close strong!

If you are referring to nominations I have a service connected nomination.

Realize that a LOT or people have service-related nominations. The tricky part is actually getting an appointment with that nomination. There are usually 600-800 people with Presidential nomination due to their parent’s service, but only 100 of them can be appointed from this category. Apply to every nomination source for which you are eligible.
