Very nice site, I love it! I wonder if somebody could help me finding good language reference for learning.

I speak English (obviously) and Spanish.

Some may say I also speak a lot of BS. :yllol:

Still, assuming the OP is sincere, I have heard that Rosetta Stone is a very good set of programs.

Of course, 99% of the people who are reading this site are probably taking a second language as part of their HS curriculum, so the Rosetta Stone (and other programs like it) would best serve as supplements (or primaries for their parents! )

Speaking more than one language is an ability that cannot be overvalued. It is simply the best thing you can do.

You've just been DYING to use that smiley, haven't you? :shake: :yllol:

You've no idea! I WAS dying to! Every spam I deleted, I'd go "DOH! I couldha used that thingee!" You opened up my chance so I took it!

Ya'll are darn well pretty funny today. I enjoyed the laugh here.

I speak English, Japanese, and marginal French. Parisians are mean, makes learning French easier IMO. :)

And I'm proud to only know how to speak english! ^_^

OH Chip - if you are ever forunate to get stationed to Europe - you won't be so proud! You will be just another "ignornant American"! Don't be afraid to get some culture! Besides in Norwich U. is practically in Quebec - pick up some French while you are there!

*sigh* I guess youre right, youre always right Besides if there were any language that i think would be most beneficial to learn right now it would have to either be Mandarin or Arabic, maybe czech too

I took German in high school. It came in handy after I met my husband and we were stationed in Germany. I would go into a store in town, ask for something in German and 9 times out of 10 they would answer me in English! I was kind of embarrassed that my "accent" was so bad they would automatically switch to English. I found the older generation much more willing to converse with me in German, I guess they appreciated my effort even if my grammar wasn't the best.

I haven't used my German in so long that I don't remember very much. "Use it or lose it" is so true.

Jamzmom, I love that spam smiley!
