While that 50pct threshold appears to be true in past years, it isnt a hard fact. This year, there are many different influences on the process that are different than prior years: new BGIS, CIS, related IT challenges, and COVID (and related challenges, including staff working from home, as well as the needs of medical staff at USNA). IOW, not having a DODMERB scheduled doesn’t necessarily mean you are/aren’t competitive (that was stated by admissions in a training session I attended).
This year is full of unique issues, and from posters here, they seem to be affecting ‘status quo’. One thing is certain, everyone’s app will be reviews, DODMERB doesn’t have to be completed for that review, and USNA has stated that they are still aiming to let *most* candidates know by April 15th.
Hang in there! If you have questions you need answered, the admissions chat bubble seems to be the way to go this year.
Good luck!!
