What percentage of plebes come from NAPS

It's about 20-25% or 1 in 4 or 5 mids are Napsters. Some years, they have -300 Napsters, but this year's class will be closer to 250. Depending on the size of the NAPS classes coming out, up to a fourth of the entire brigade of midshipmen would have gone through NAPS.

woah. that's overstating it a bit much. It's no where near 1/4. More like 1/7th.

I don't think it's overstating at all. For example, last years plebe class in I-Day had 1229 plebes, 246 of which came from NAPS, which is right at 20% or 1 in 5. It changes slightly year to year. The plebe starting class size is usually around 1250, and there have been as many as 300 Napsters enter. Last year, 393 plebes total came from prep schools (NAPS or Foundation) which is 32% of the class. 84 students had one or more years of college. Some came straight from the fleet. Therefore roughly 40% of last years entering class did not come straight from HS. Roughly 60% of the plebes are direct from high school.

Perhaps Chris has an appoointment to NAPS and is thinking the other way around:

What is the size of the NAPS Class of 2010 that produced the 246 Plebes this past summer?
