What should I do if recruiter isn't responding

Hello, I have 95% of my NROTC application completed but am struggling with the last 5%. I submitted my application, completed the interview, submitted the physical test all the paperwork including the drug form. All I have left is to give my recruiter my evaluations but I do not know how to do that. Also, my guidance counselor claims that she mailed a physically signed copy of my transcript and I want to confirm with my recruiter if he has received it but I can't seem to get a hold of him these last few weeks. I'm trying to be patient but I also really want to get my application in for one of the next review boards.

I had emailed him several times before in the earlier stages of the application and he got back to me within a day or two. I first emailed him a few weeks ago because all of my math teachers and additional teacher who are writing me evaluations claim to receive an error message when attempting to fill out the online evaluation. My recruiter said he didn't know what was wrong and he sent me a pdf to print out and give to my math teacher for her to fill out and scan and send him a copy. He didn't give me a specific pdf for my additional evaluation which I am having my English teacher do and considering that the other math evaluation sheet is titled "Math Evaluation" I would assume that there is another sheet specifically for your additional evaluation.

I waited a few days and sent a follow-up email. I actually sent multiple follow-up emails. No reply. Waited a few days and sent him a text asking if we could speak on the phone one day. He texted back and said he was busy and he would call me later that day. No call.

I don't know what to do because I feel like I shouldn't continue to message him because we all hate it when we look at our computer and see 20 emails right? Should I call him? If so what time? I'm guessing he is just really busy but I literally just need 5 minutes of his time to figure out if he has my transcripts and I need him to send me the evaluation form for my English teacher.

I just feel like I'm so close to having this application done but yet so far. Any suggestions.? Thank you!

I feel your frustration with dealing with the recruiter. My son was awarded a 4 yr Navy Scholarship last year and is currently at a SMC. My son had to constantly send emails and text messages in hopes that the recruiter would respond in a timely manner. We live in a small town in Texas and his recruiter was in Houston. I am sure you have a timeline in your head, boards you want to make, etc....It all worked out in the end for my son. Just try to stay the course and be patient. It was pointed out to us that his recruiter had multiple jobs, was new in his position and was doing the best he could. Keep pushing-in a respectful manner. Be patient. Keep preparing yourself. Work on your fitness. Prepare for the interview. I am convinced that the interview is what nailed it for my son.

Best of luck to you, and thank you for your willingness to serve the greatest country in the world.

Here is a link to the NROTC commands, including a map. I would call them today.

Both of our guys experienced similar situations. Sometimes recruiters are reassigned. And they seem to drop off the face of the earth. One of my guys went through 4, as he started early. Each time, they just disappeared…as did the stuff that was already sent to them (LOR’s were sent many, many times…felt so bad for his teachers!!). Unfortunately it seems to be the nature of how things go. With some recruiters. Not all. Eventually both guys were put in the proper pipeline and in a matter of days, everything was sent in. And their last people who sent it all in? They were awesome and had ideas and comments to further tweak their applications. So I’m the long run, it worked out for the better.

Doors and windows!

Stay positive, and reach out to your regional command. Be professional, proper and goal oriented. Don’t whine or complain. Good luck!

Have you tried mailing or handing in your evaluations? My recruiter emailed me the files for my evaluation, if you want I can email them to you and you can print them and hand them to your respective teachers. After that, you can either mail them to his office or drop them off in person.
I did Marine option NROTC but regardless I can send you the documents if you want.

Great guidance from posters above - I would just note the candidate should not physically touch the evaluations once they are completed - they should be emailed or mailed directly or sealed and sent in another envelope with whatever was written being kept from the candidate - chain of custody and all that, plus it keeps the integrity of the evaluation in tact.

Please send me the evaluation forms. Thank you so much

Many of the NROTC PNS's have a good relationship with the NTAG in their area. If you are having difficulties reaching a recruiter, the PNS or the Freshman advisor may be able to help. I will stress this isn't the case all the time, but I know for my consortium (GWU, Catholic, Georgetown, and Howard), we communicate with the Richmond NTAG often.

Our same experience with the USMC option scholarship last year. My son had a 1st time recruiter to help with his packet. He had several 11th hour calls to resubmit paperwork. Son was appointed to 2 SA and won a 4 year AROTC but did not hear anything form NROTC MO. I personally think his packet was never turned in. I used several searches engines from this forum to inquire about his packet and never could find any info. Houston recruiting office as well.
