What to bring on I-DAY

I'd bring minimal toiletries, since you don't know what cadre will allow. Pack the Body Glide, tiger balm, powders, sunscreen in first care package. Even though they can go get some of the stuff, they are exhausted and anything you can make easier by having it delivered will be appreciated.

I always laugh at these threads. "What should I bring on I-Day??" Only one answer: what they tell you to bring.

Whether you keep it or not or it comes in handy later or not, time will tell. Bring what they tell you.

It may seem a simple and laughable question, to just bring what they tell you, but I think many of us are confused because they DONT tell you what to bring. I have been through the entire PTR package and it only tells you what THEY will provide us with. They give us the exact number of stuff that we will be given. But they dont tell us what specifically to bring! Except for athletic equipment.

The permit to report package may have changed since last year. If there's confusion or doubt about what to bring (i) ask your BGO for guidance, (ii) call the admissions office to verify or (iii) follow guidance on this forum. One thing that I am pretty sure won't chage is that anything your detailer doesn't want you to have, will be taken away.

I beg your pardon......last year we had a list: XX pairs of white underwear, XX pairs of white sox, etc........ Are you sure there's not a list somewhere in that mound of paperwork?

I could be wrong, and I would appreciate any one else commenting on whether or not they have found otherwise, but all i see is "You will be given XX pairs of white undershirts, XX socks etc. I dont see anywhere were it says to "Bring XX of this" or anything besides telling us to bring any athletic equipment we may want to use. Did anyone else find anything? Am I missing something?

Hi - I too, was confused and just read the information again.

On page 10 at the top it says "candidates will be allowed to bring and utilize the following clothing as long as it meets Naval Academy uniform criteria"

Then it lists a bunch of items such as underwear, toiletries, money, calculator - but it also lists what will be issued to them - alittle confusing: White Brief Underwear (18 briefs will be issues) - so I guess if you need more than 18 or want boxer briefs, you could bring more.

They also talk about bringing your own running shoes (I've seen this on another thread) and there are no color restrictions mentioned.

See you on I-Day :)
