I have my CVW this Thursday and was wondering if there are any items that are required other than clothes and toiletries.

Also, should I bring food of some sort to share with my plebe or money for the mid store if there’s time?

I personally would recommend that you take recommended items. You could take food but make sure that it isn't perishable, I would double check on this.
As for the money...I don't know if you will be able to stop by the Mid Store. Again, this all depends on the schedule of your Midshipman.
Most importantly, remember to have fun and that you are there to experience life at the Naval Academy. Ask questions!!!

I recommend bringing something for your Mid. They are dragging you around for a few days with them hence you may hear yourself being referred to as a “Drag”. Being a former Drag myself I recommend bringing something like cookies or something nice for your Mid that they may not usually get.

DS took homemade cookies for host - easier to do if driving vs. flying. I believe he received a discount coupon for the clothing/gift shop at the visitor's center - many of the families headed over there at the end of CVW to make a purchase.

I second to bring some snacks to share. Homemade cookies will get eaten in minutes!

Nothing quite like a little gedunk, once in a while!

These days, beef jerky and protein bars are more popular with my DS and his friends (rather than sugary sweets).
Something to consider for health-conscious fit people!
