Hey, I am an AS400 in AFROTC and am a month and a half away from commissioning...until yesterday. I went to see a neurologist in January for headaches that I get, and the eventual diagnoses was atypical migraines 3-4 episodes a week for a few hours each. After that I submitted it DodMerb through my NCOs and was medically disqualified and disqualified from commissioning after being in the program for 4 years and they said I cant put in a waiver for 2 years and they have started administratively releasing me. I believe this was a misdiagnoses as my migraines have stopped for the past couple months and the only thing I changed was I stopped taking Pre-workout and I stopped over working myself at the gym. I am going back to the doctors to discuss a rediagnoses that issue was being caused by chronic use wayyy too much caffeine as well as straining myself at the gym constantly (i got the migraines same day as exerting lifting days). How to I go about appealing that kind of decision from Dodmerb/AFROTC HQ? What is the likelihood that this will help my situation and allow me to commission? Thanks to any help yall can provide.

As a "contracted" AFROTC member, you will work thru your Det Commander. AF Recruiting Service, Accession Medical Waiver Division is the authority with the final decision. Yours, @ this time, is NOT a DoDMERB issue :wiggle:
