What to do If you win? (AROTC)

Just an FYI - You posted the same question in 2 places. To get the best response - just post in 1 place. CONGRATS on your scholarship. Great accomplishment. You were awarded a 3-year to at least 1, most likely 3-4 schools. 1st decision is - where do you want to go to school? Select that school, and sign the letter of intent.

That is the simple answer. Make sure you research the ROTC benefits (for a 3-year Winner) at each school and pick the one that is best for you. Good job. The Journey begins!

Thank you so much! I am very excited. I was selected for TAMU, VMI, and The Citadel. I want to go to TAMU but haven't heard back from their admissions yet. Can I wait until I get in to sign my letter of intent? Also, how do I contact someone from TAMU to ask a few questions?

@J.Col123 - Congrats - email Mr. Manning tomorrow at TAMU (ROO) and let him know you were awarded a scholarship at TAMU. He may be able to expedite the process. Congrats!

@J.Col123 - PM me if you need specific TAMU info - going through a similar process with my DS. Will be glad to help.

I will certainly do that tomorrow. However, I am slated to go into Oceanography and TAMU (If I were to get in) and I got my AROTC scholarship for Economics. Will this be an issue? If so, how would I go about fixing it?
 
AROTC is not as strict regarding Majors as NROTC and AFROTC. David Manning is the TAMU AROTC Scholarship point of contact. Call him in the am and ask him your specific questions.

I was just marked winner, but I don't see a letter of intent.
Would that be under the file upload page, or do you know where could I find that?

Unless something has changed I think you have 30 days to reply to the scholarship. You should get a letter to that effect. You should accept and select TAMU. If you are not admitted to TAMU you can transfer your scholarship to another school.

@Mammal Fur - take a look in your "file upload" section of your portal. There should be a "Winner" letter uploaded to your documents. Read it and refer to "additional information" if you need further guidance. Congrats on your scholarship!

It’s been a half hour since your status changed... let’s give it some time. You have a month to reply to the offer.
The letter will also come in the mail with your BFE.

If your portal has "winner" in the status page - you should have a letter in your upload section. I would email TAMU 1st. The Corps of Cadets at TAMU is VERY strong and can work with the admissions department on expediting decisions. You have 30 days to sign your letter of intent - Contact Mr. Manning, get accepted to TAMU - and as always, have a plan B.
 
Folks...take a deep breath and calm down a little. Offers just got posted. In the next day or two you will see the offer letter and you will probably be contacted by ROOs or PMSs. Ask them your questions and listen carefully to what they say. Congrats if you got an offer, and better luck on the next round if you didn’t.

It's odd, I have the winner in the status, and the name of my top three choices of schools on the bottom of the page, but the only letter(s) in my upload page are my letters of recommendation.

As state above - take a breath - the letter will be uploaded in the coming days if it is not there. You have 30 days to sort it out.

Any idea when the DODMERB request gets put in? DS needs a waiver and we’ve been anxious since DQ in August! This will be the first waiver request made on his behalf. 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

How long does it usually take for all results to come out?

ROTC Scholarship recipients should receive a DODMETS/DODMERB email in the coming weeks. NOTE - check your spam/junk email box as they often end of there. You can always go to the DODMETS website and login as "applicant login" to see if your info has been uploaded. Remember Parents - help your DS/DD with the questionnaire - Don't self diagnose.
