What To Watch As A COVID-19 Escape

30 Rock on Prime, the newer Sherlock with Cumberbatch, some doofy Bond movies, and lots of MST3K/Rifftrax of course.

Oh, and until the end of March Prime has a couple dozen of Julia Child's first shows from 1963. They're so fundamental and unpolished I just love them. I think they were shot at her house or something, because at one point the doorbell rings and she says "Not answering that right now."

Just found out I’ve been exposed, in a store that had an employee kind of thing. Friday. Kid you not. Stay tuned. This is SO WEIRD!

Had a toddler with me, stopped after to visit my mom at a nursing home. Of course wouldn’t do that knowing what I do now. Waiting to see if anything comes of it ....

SCARY how EASILY and quickly it can happen.

Maybe we need to start an “infected” thread 😳

I’m going a little off-topic here, but I already checked with the OP and got an ok.

I’ve pasted in below an email I received from Team Red White and Blue (Team RWB), a veterans’ group with chapters in most cities. We get out and do stuff together. All vets, all eras, are welcome. No dues. Non-profit legit 501(c)3. With the flood of info coming from internet news feeds, television, news radio, newspapers, this was refreshing. No stats. Just - well, read it.

Eagle Nation,

As we all know by now, we are living through unprecedented times. For most of us, the next 3-6 weeks will be very different than our normal lives. Despite the adversity bearing down on us, we cannot afford to panic. We will get through it together.

You’ve almost certainly received dozens of emails by now, with guidance on everything from hygiene best practices to places you should avoid. This is not that kind of email. I want to share some thoughts with you that I hope will help you cope and lead through these trying times.
Don’t stay plugged in 24/7. The big news will make its way to you. Take action accordingly, but let’s not allow COVID-19 to consume our every waking thought.
Use technology to lean into your relationships. Carve out time for video chats (via Facetime, Google Hangout, Zoom, and others) with your family, friends, and teammates.
Take care of each other. The major life changes are going to impact some people, perhaps you, financially. If you’re in a position to pay it forward, order food for a friend who might have lost most of his/her work.
Get outside! Sunlight and breeze are good for the body and mind. Let nature help you in the weeks ahead.
Exercise. We know that daily exercise is good for our hearts, our muscles, and our minds. If you haven’t downloaded the Team RWB App yet, I encourage you to do so right now. We have daily virtual challenges to motivate you to break a sweat. In the process, you’ll push out cortisol/stress hormones and generate endorphins to feel better.
All of us, especially our veterans, have faced and overcome significant adversity in our lives. At Team RWB, we use #BornForTheStorm for a reason. While no one wishes for the storms of life, they are inevitable. It’s critical to know that we are born for these challenges. We are equipped to face them head-on. Just as importantly, we are prepared to lead others through these storms.
People are undoubtedly looking to you right now. I urge you to stay calm, to keep a #BornForTheStorm mindset in the coming weeks, and to forward this message to anybody you think could use it. Our communities, our country, and the world will be better for it because of you.

Praying the exposure does not lead to infection for you or your family.

HIGHLY recommend Sherlock (BBC) with Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman on Netflix. Four "seasons" (Brits apparently call them Series), but each consists of only 3 episodes that run approx 90 mins each. By the time you get to Series 3, you are fully invested in the characters and in my opinion Series 3 is stellar and puts this show in company with some of the best television ever made.
We loved it and hoped they were going to make more.

Hello my name is Randy Tharp, President of VETSports...

Our goal/mission at VETSports is to help Veterans combat the suicide rate through sports and activity. I know right now, depending on where you live, you're on quarantine at home. So today, I'm starting the
#VETSportsAtHomeChallenge for a week. Here is day 1 of exercises to do at home and I'm tagging the VETSports Athlete Nation to do the challenge with me!

Share this challenge and/or a video of you doing the challenge on your social feed and tag 3 friends to do the challenge with you!

Let's not forget the 22 veterans a day we lose to suicide and in these hard times we need to stay as connected as possible to those who need us the most!

I am trying to get up to the 4:30 plank max for Midshipmen. 2:00 is pretty easy. 2:30 is doable. 3:00 is hard. I haven't made 3:30 yet, but I'm working on it.

Cirque du Soleil put out a one-hour special comprised of acts from various shows. It’s in their content hub, along with other show footage videos, and the YouTube link below.

I have loved Cirque shows since I saw my first one when they were just starting out. Magical, and no animal acts/smell.
