What To Watch As A COVID-19 Escape

Cute little series on Netflix "Emily in Paris". Just 10 episodes, 30 minutes each, but funny as the main character (from Chicago) gets unexpectedly thrown into a job in Paris. And our family is super excited for The Mandalorian season 2 that just came out.

The Siege of Jadotville. Recommendation from my son and my wife and I watched it last night before our Walking Dead shows. Great movie and story.

Speaking of the Irish Defense Force, Just finished watching "Recruits" on Amazon Prime with DS#2. This series follows a group of recruits through their selection into the Irish Defense Force to graduation from boot camp (approx. 17 weeks). My son was truly "gobsmacked" at how different (aka relaxed) the basic training methodology/mindset is to US basic training doctrine. It's worth a peep, warning though heavy Irish brogues, some may need the subtitles.

Forgot to add one more in that is also being offered free on Amazon Prime ... War Dog " A Soldier's Best Friend". A great series that follows the stories of 2 Ranger Combat Dog Handlers and their Canine GI partners and one Delta Combat Dog Handler and Canine GI partner. This will tug at your heart and you will be enraged at what happened to SFC Dixon when he went to seek out and adopt his GI Canine Combat Partner Mika after she retired from her civilian police dog life.

@mommahedg : Do you remember the scene from "Emily in Paris" in the museum where the images of van Gogh paintings were shown? It was one of the coolest things I ever saw. That exhibition has since closed but a very similar one is scheduled to open in Indianapolis soon.

@Capt MJ If you liked Olive Coleman in The Crown, check out Broadchurch on Netflix where she plays a homicide detective (& mother) in a small town on the southern coast of England. 3 seasons.

Seen it! Re-watching “Lewis” now. Love PBS mystery series, historical or current. Loved all of the ones based on Ann Cleeves books.
Thanks for thinking of me. All suggestions welcome.

One show my family and I watch obsessively is Tim Allen's Last Man Standing. We haven't seen any of the newer seasons, but all the older episodes are awesome! Funnily enough, this was when I first found out about West Point...

We just finished the final season of "Chuck".
Yvonne Strahovski..........🥰
Our family loved that show. Across the board, though, we recommend skipping the last season. 💁
Another one to dig up if you like that is Burn Notice.
And if you like shows about the imperfect good guy, look for the old White Collar episodes.

A favorite here as well!

Having a hard time with Schitt’s Creek. Gave up actually. Anyone else? @Capt MJ are you enjoying it ??

We usually give something several episodes, still assessing.
Im taking it as a mental floss show. I turned off the idea of judging it, and am just enjoying the characters and humor for what they are, it's kind of like a modern Gilligan's Island.
