When do most appointments go out?

When you receive an appt, USNA notifies your Representative and gives him/her about a week to contact you. He/she may or may not do so. At that point, USNA mails out your appt certificate. About a week after that (long after you know), USNA notifies your BGO (updating your status in BGO system).

is it possible to receive an appointment if I don't have a MOC nom even if I do have a JROTC nom?

It's possible to receive an appointment if you have ANY nom, and in rare cases, if you have no noms (you can get one from a source to which you can't apply, such as the Supe). That said, some candidates with multiple noms won't receive an appointment.

thank you usna1985, this makes me feel better about not receiving a MOC nom. would you happen to know what my chances are with just this nom? I've been looking at the 2014 data and ALOT of candidates have MOC noms and only about 350 or so have a JROTC nom. does that mean that they got both (an MOC and JROTC) or one or the other?
thanks for the info

Hard to know without knowing how the data was compiled. I would assume that they listed each nom that each person received, so there could be some overlap; but that's only an assumption.

I would add that, although many candidates receive appts with only one nom, some with 3 noms receive rejections. Having a nom basically puts you in the competition.
