When do you hear from DodMerb during the app process?

Do you hear from DodMerb once you start the application process for USCGA or do you have to submit your application you hear from them to schedule your exam? Thanks!
 
For USNA, you're supposed to hear from them once you've submitted half of your application. I would imagine USCGA is similar.
 
For ALL ACADEMIES, the latter :wiggle:
 
For USMA, you need to have completed a good portion of your application usually including your essays. There are no exact rules but once a candidate has demonstrated that it looks like they will complete the application AND they are competitive for an offer, the RC will initiate medical. Candidates can fully complete the application but if they are not competitive, the government will not waste the time and effort.
