Hi. I'm a student interested in becoming a pilot through NROTC, and I've done some research on the training process for pilots. But, I can't seem to find a clear source on when exactly training is supposed to start. Does it happen after graduation? During my junior and senior years of college?

And if I'm planning to get PRK surgery to make up for my poor vision, does it happen during college as well?

If you are selected for a pilot spot, training starts after you graduate. During your 4 years of NROTC there are summer training opportunities. These are to give you exposure to the different warfare communities the Navy has and get acquainted with the fleet. Yes, PRK can happen in college. Your instructor knows the ins/outs of when you need to have it done by, etc to qualify for pilot.

Thanks again!
