When does USNA start sending out TWE?

Although. The baby just got accepted to the Air Force Academy. Crying happy tears in the middle of an accreditation visit. Must pull myself together and go back in the board room. So, NO ONE GIVE UP HOPE!!! You are still in the fight.
DrMom...I am so happy for you and your boy! Your family's service to our Country and now having the next generation continue is truly admirable. You and your family are truly an inspiration. Congratulations!

Thank you Swag...I am waiting for your boy's story to continue to unfold. Only great things ahead for our kids and for our Nation.

Thank you...It's only just the beginning! One thing that he came away from this weekend at Citadel was the realization that no matter where he goes to school the outcome will be the same. It's ALL up to him...and he is in control of what he wants. Whether it's a SA, SMC, or a State University with a great ROTC...He knows he can and will do it. The next few weeks will be unfolding soon and all of these kids are in my prayers. What an amazing group!

Swag's boy will be a Second Lieutenant of Marines. There is one pathway...

Teragram...I was where you are just a week ago. The week was tough, but now he's focused on plan B and C. I won't say there haven't been tears from mom.
Thank you for posting your experience. Like you, I believe that posting my experience will help other's in the future. Although I'm now more focused on the ROTC portion of this forum, I always check to see how you all are doing!
Wishing you all nothing but good news...and if it's not...it will be just fine! Blessings!
Thank you Swag, I am still crossing fingers for your DS and a Marine Scholaship. DD has her 4 year AROTC so we take comfort that a plan B is solidly in place...it softens the blow just a bit. USMA is 1st choice and wait continues on that front. Saying a little prayer we don't have to repeat this week, but if we do I know she has a bright future ahead. As do all our children!

One thing is for sure. When I started checking the forums for info about NASS, and then joining the forum back in December, I never thought I would get caught up in rooting for all these parents and kids. You are after all strangers. Yet here I am. As time went by, I find myself not just checking on info that could help my DD, but checking to see what's going on with all of you. I can tell you I share in your joy as well as your tiny insignificant moments of disappointment. After all that's what they are. Tiny. These kids have lifetimes to do great things. In short, thanks for letting me be a part of it all. Truly inspirational.

Stick around. Contribute by helping next years kids.

I'm so sorry to hear that Teragram...I hope your DD plan B is amazing!!!
Hi, no DD has not heard yet, that was my reply to the question about the portal change. We are moving onto plan B or actually C. Although my DD is a college re-app she turned down her athletic scholarships and decided to stay local and attend a 4 year univ. in our town. She thought it would help her to focus on grades, prep for retaking SAT's, continue with the part time job (her admission counselor suggested she get), work on nomination packets and interviews locally ect.... so here we are not feeling hopefull because she didn't get A's in Calc and Chem. So we have just returned from a college trip, DD is trying to get re-recruited and get a little excited about plan C so that if/when the TWE comes we can start making some concrete plans. This has been a difficult path for DD and us as parents. We have all learned a lot of lessons along the way.

Is your DD doing NROTC?

Thank you, it was a rough 24 hours but she has bounced back (I took it harder I believe). She has a 4 year AROTC to Auburn University already in place with academic scholarships to cover room and board, so very solid Plan B. However, she is still waiting on USMA which is her first choice and AFA, so all hope has not been lost :)
That is a fantastic plan B and still waiting to hear from 2 Academies. Your DD is in a very exciting position congratulations

I feel the exact way!!! I came here looking for info on my DS and became a cheerleader for all this kids. I really do get tears in my eyes when TWE's present their selves, but overwhelming joy for BFE's. From hearing everyone's stories, these future officers are going to be outstanding in our military. They have extremely stolid homes that support them!!!!

I cheer for each kid when a name and number is added to the list yet know that's one less slot available for my DS, cringe when I read of someone receiving a TWE, but honestly, I also breathe a little sigh of relief knowing my DS is in CPR still, and feel guilty for that. Trips to the mailbox are now anxiety filled for me.
Everyone has been so amazing since I joined and ever so helpful. Thank you!
These kids give me hope for our country's future, and for that, I am ever so grateful.

*DS plan B is solid and in place: NROTC scholarship to Embry Riddle w presidential scholarship for aerospace honors, but since 2nd grade he's been talking USNA...
