My DS got both AFROTC and NROTC scholarship. Should he accept the AFROTC scholarship now in the portal (there's a place to accept/decline it) which is not binding or it is binding and he should wait till April/May to accept/decline it when he decides which one to go?

If there is no deadline for AFROTC, then there is no rush to accept it. It is his until the deadline. NROTC's deadline is not till late spring I believe.
I would check with AFROTC, but I don't think it is binding until you have to show up. You can decline it after accepting the scholarship at any time.

He has earned the right to use the time to fully contemplate the decision. Make sure he's spending meaningful time truly understanding the mission, MOS choices and commitment. High-school seniors can be mercurial in their thoughts and this bit of down time may be what he needs to check -- and confirm -- his conviction. Best wishes to him.

Go visit the Detachments of schools they have gotten accepted into and see what the seniors got for job drops. Lots of homework to be done now that you have the scholarship.
