Hello,

So here is my current situation...
I am in the unfortunate situation with an LOA and 3Q but no nomination (MOC and Senators did not give me one)(I've said this on this forum before).
I contacted a USMA admissions officer that I've had contact with a couple of times about what I could do in my current situation and he said all I could do was wait.
While I am not very hopeful about receiving a VP nom it is my last hope. Does anybody know when this nom result usually comes out?

Thank you so much!

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. I got the VP nom mid-February last year. There is a good chance USMA can still find you a nom.

More of your current situation, or have you changed your mind? I see you have USAFA as number one, and have received an appointment. Have you changed your mind? Just curious. And congrats on your USAFA appointment!!

VP noms are one of those noms that an SA would use at their discretion for a eligible candidate. There are no guarantees if one would get it even if one is 3Q.

Think of it if there is 1 vp nom and 5 eligible candidates such as you. If an SA really really wants you, they will find it.

Hello,

So USAFA has been my number 1 for a while but after seriously considering what kind of environment I wanted to be in and talking with a lot of old USMA grads/recent grads I've started to feel like West Point and the Army may be better for me. I still want to fly but that's something that I could do in the Army as well. Yes, there are less spots and it's more competitive, but I am willing to put in the effort and try my best! Of course, nothing completely set in stone yet, but something I'm strongly considering now!

Warrant Officers do most of the flying in the Army. Junior Officers might fly for a few years and then move on.

I'm in the exact same boat as you, but for USNA! Here's to hoping!!!

Here's a quick, and possibly unfortunate, update. I was checking my USMA account to see if there were any updates of any sort and when I open my "Application Overview" it says that my file has been recently closed by Admissions for this year. It also says that I should have received correspondence about this closure but I haven't yet.

I will be emailing my region's admissions officer in case this was a mistake but I'm assuming it's not and that my road for USMA ends here.
