Hello, I am applying for the class of 2022 and I would really appreciate some tips on how to maximize my chances. I have wanted to go to USNA since I was a child, and any help would mean a lot.
Here are my stats as of now:

ACT Math: 30
ACT English: 35 - I was thinking of taking the SAT
GPA: 4.4 (weighted)
Extracurricular activities: Football (4 years, 3 years as a captain),
Baseball (3 years, 2 years as a captain (Will play my senior year and captain TBD) , All-Conference,)
Track and Field (2 years)
History Club President (2 years)
English Club (3 years)
Math Team (2 years)
Spanish Club (3 years)
Spanish Honors Society (2 years)
Student Government (2 years)
National Honors Society (2 years)

Also, should I try to retake the fitness test?

Thank you for all help!

Your resume looks solid. There really isn't much you can do at this point to enhance your resume.

Re-taking the college entrance exams can't hurt and your CFA scores are good but not exceptional (though re-taking them is certainly a risk with what is likely a passing score supplemented by being involved in high school sports)

As is often repeated - no one hear sits on Admissions and it comes down to who you are competing against.

Good luck

A little off topic, but I see this on the forum occasionally. Not doubting the OP, but in our area a sophomore would very rarely if ever be a Captain on the football and baseball teams. The bigger or better the school, the less chance. The role of captain usually goes to older, more seasoned kids.

I see it all the time here on the forum. Are these young captains in a tiny school? You have be a stud around here to get the honor.

I was wondering about that too. Our DS is a junior this year and has not had the opportunity to captain anything yet and really will not get that opportunity until his senior year. It's an honor only offered to the top seniors each year. This is the same with some other leadership opportunities. DS is in NHS, DECA etc..., but when it comes to holding office it is typically the senior members elected. He is a class officer though. He worries about his 'lack in leadership' but I keep telling him it will all come in due time.

I was Captain on my freshman football team, sophomore football team, and varsity as a senior. For baseball, I was captain on my sophomore baseball team as a freshman, and then captain on Varsity as a junior, I don't want to assume that I will be captain in my senior year, but junior captains are usually reelected. Sorry for the miscommunication--I should've clarified. I also have never heard of a sophomore or freshman varsity captain.

That makes sense. Our school is not large enough to have separate teams with separate captains for each squad. We have JV and V. But JV doesn't elect captains. Larger schools have more opportunities in that way.

Yeah I think it depends on the school. My school has about 680, but sports are very important so our coaches go full out.

I understand your thinking, but I don't think the academies care about freshman captaincy, JV, etc. Also, I think that many, many others would be able to say the same thing, but listed only varsity accolades.

I would agree but the exception to this is some of the smaller sports such as tennis, golf, volleyball, etc. My DD was captain of her Varsity tennis team from 10th - 12th. The reason is that she was the youngest on the team with four seniors in the line-up her freshman year and when they graduated, she became the oldest and the leader. She was the only one in her grade on the team and a leader moving to the #1 spot in the line-up and was elected by the team each year. She lettered in Varsity tennis for five years. It's a K-12 private school but it's not small but occasionally there are gaps in sports by age and talent. Now for football, LAX, XC and other large team sports, I totally agree. Definitely play sports your senior year and good luck getting the captain position!
