Where is Everyone Taking Their ROTC Scholarship?!?!?! (Any Branch)

4-Year Army ROTC scholarship to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Daytona Beach Campus)

DS 4 year AROTC at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University (Daytona Beach)

We are hopeful for the third board that my son will be on scholarship. Also waiting on the last of the Navy boards. Regardless, he will be attending ERAU in Daytona in the fall. If he is not on any scholarship, he will join AROTC and apply for a three year.

Are either of you attending the accepted student weekend on 31 March and 1 April? We will be there.

@inSANEmom I already visited the campus recently and my parents do not want me missing anymore school so I won't be at the preview day. What does your son plan on majoring in? Good luck to your son and maybe we'll end up crossing paths in August!

Commercial Space Operations. I'm sure your paths will cross! :)

Acceptance to Syracuse scanned and emailed in!
Still waiting to hear from Syracuse. Thats the last school on my DS list ( with the exception of USAFA). He was awarded a Type 1 any major AFROTC scholarship. If Syracuse says yes, then thats where he will most likely use the scholarship. ( also dependent on USAFA results)

Our ROO got us confirmation of acceptance and we got an email from SU yesterday. Contact their AFROTC recruiter and see if he can inquire with admissions. Letters will start to be mailed on the 10th according to ours. Good luck!

@inSANEmom - just to be certain you're aware - there is no formal "application" for a 3-year or campus based AROTC scholarship. It 100% depends on whether or not your son's battalion has the funds to allocate to non-scholarship cadets, and how your son ranks in comparison to other cadets vying for the money. Some years they have some money, some years they don't. In his favor, there does seem to be a push towards funneling monies to campuses for these scholarships, and so his odds would be pretty good. He absolutely would need to show up and kill the PT test and academics.

Hopefully, of course, he'll get the nod from the third board, but I've known enough kids that enroll at an expensive school, thinking they'll just "apply" for a 3-year, only to find out the well is dry that year. Good luck to to him!

Thank you for that information. The 10th is just a few short days away so I am guessing we should know within a week or so. Not too bad of a wait at this point.

Good luck! We were up against a hard deadline with AROTC. His acceptance had to go in by the 10th and he had two other offers. He would have taken WVU if Syracuse hadn't accepted him.

My DS won an Army ROTC 4-year to Cornell University for Fall 2017.

@Motorguy congratulations, my DS also won a 4 year to Cornell. He accepted the scholarship the other day. Now we just wait to find out if he gets into the university. Best of luck to you and your DS.

@cali-mom Congrats to you as well. Cornell should be sending out acceptance March 30th at 5PM via portal and email.

Congrats...My son is currently an MS3 at Cornell. Send me a message if you guys have any questions on the program or Cornell in general.

Congrats on your future Wolverine! My one DS is a freshman there. Go Blue!
So excited for him. He is there right now with my wife for campus day on Monday. As I type this, he is visiting with a MIDN and Lt. Guadagnini at the unit. How has his experience been so far?

Far above Cayuga's waters, with its waves of blue....

So far it has been good with some bumps in the road. My advice to your son is to not load up his schedule with too many hours or too many hard classes all at once next year. UofM is a very hard school and the
first semester was quite a wake up call as to how hard it actually is! But he loves being there. He is not in ROTC, his twin brother is over at the rival school though.
