Is there a specific website or place to buy scale model aircraft of the Navy airframes-P8,e/f18, Osprey, helicopters, etc. that you recommend/ are high quality? Tia.

This might take a little extra research, but the actual aircraft manufacturers sometimes have an employee store that sell scale models. A query to the appropriate plant could point you in the right direction. I had a UH-1N that was gifted to me. They got it from the Bell-Textron plant in Texas. As an aside long ago when we had NAS Cubi Point in the PI, local artisans made beautiful hand carved and painted squadron scale aircraft complete with the pilot's name under the canopy. Happy hunting.

Might have some luck with finding someone with a 3D printer. I have a T-6 on a stick my friend 3D printed for me

Can a 3D printer make a small drone that looks like one, that is operational?

How big can the payload be? 😂

I’m looking at buying a custom PLA H6 of the type that harassed CSG3 while DD was a FIWO. Found these guys: www.scalecraft.com.

About $350 for a large PLA H6 model similar in size to the E6 and B2 I have on my desk (about 20”x 17”) Wait on custom build (like the H6 is 14 weeks).

I think this P8 is in stock and $250 at 1:100 scale. Good luck

BTW: Osprey COD is listed at $280 and appears to be in stock. Im sure they do a Marine version but the custom will likely cost a little more and take much longer

Full scale working model with spare parts. I’ve had my eye on this one for awhile. Price keeps coming down.
A bargain at that price...I bet the operating costs quickly exceeds the purchase price !

At first, I thought OP was about the little plastic models I built as a kid..I was never very good, didn't have much patience and used too much glue, but had friends who were really meticulous and could really build them. Alas, no matter how good they were, they all eventually met the same fate ...falling victim to .177 BB's and pellets. (Our sinking of the Bismark was truly epic ...it floated down a small creek while we pounded it!)

Flashy! But, wouldn't the Spad (bottom of page 1 Fighter Inventory) offer a better solution to dealing with neighborhood disputes.

I built Revell and Monogram models. I was good at putting on the decals, the type you soaked in water first. I bought models for my boys so they could learn to follow directions, double check that the parts fit before glueing, and learn a little something about the model like the Corsair and others. The models met their demise off the balcony in Italy or with kid EOD explosives (firecrackers) placed on and under the model. I had a balsa wood Cessna that I made as a kid. It hung from my bedroom ceiling. Mom left it there the entire time she was alive. It went to the garage (not sure who put it there) after she passed.
