Where's the Key Chain Package?

Should the wisdom teeth be taken our or not? This seems to be a frequent topic on the forums. I had never even thought about having son's wisdom teeth taken out until I began reading the forums. My question is this... once CGA receives the dental xrays, will someone from CGA tell us whether they should be taken out or not? OR Do I make the decision on my own, and in that case, he probably will not have them removed prior to Rday. He has never had any problems, nor has the dentist ever recommended it.

Yes, IF they need to be removed, they will tell you after they get the x-rays.

There's your answer. :thumb:

My personal opinion. Go to the dentist, if he says something along the lines of "these will have to come out eventually" and money is not an issue then get them taken out. Its just something that you have to miss class for at some point as a cadet and you don't get the same "mom" treatment in the barracks.

Not a big deal either way, but if you have the option then take it. It's what i did at least.

if you think swabs smell bad when i was at boot camp we got 1 shower a day. the whole company of 90 people had 15 minutes to use 5 shower heads in one room

You will need your wisdom teeth removed before you graduate as I hear it. However, I say wait until the school year (unless you really need them out). Also, if you do it with the Academy, its free and you have the clinic watching you. As well, you get bed-rest (or maybe SIQ.... I forget) status, which basically means you can just sleep for a few days. I haven't had mine removed yet, and I've been here 2 years (I'm kind of avoiding it, but I will have to next semester or so). My 4/c had his removed the other week or so, he was a bit miserable for a few days, then he got over it.

My son received the beautiful white appointment folder in the mail yesterday!!!! It sure is impressive!!!

Lots of paperwork to be filled out...we'll have to tackle that this weekend.

Quick question for those of you who have already received yours: Where is the keychain and banner? Was it supposed to be in that envelope or is there another envelope yet to come? Or, maybe they ran out? I hope not, as I was coveting that keychain!!!!!

It comes in a seprate envelope, I found mine buried in a pile of my mom's packages a week after it got to our house.

Recruits smell bad too. I had the "honor" of waiting for my dental exam at the TRACEN Cape May clinic while recruits were being processed.

Fairwinds,

When I intially asked the question about, "Where's the keychain package", I thought that it was the nice white folder with all the paperwork package with the keychain, etc. enclosed with it. But they come seperately, and son got his keychain package maybe 4-6 days after turning in his acceptance papers. He then received the big, big paperwork package (a.ka. beautiful white presentaion folder) about 5-6 days after "keychain package".

I really loved the hand-written note! I got on the CGA website immediately to put a face to Katie Sullivan who had written the note. Can't wait to meet the CGA staff soon. Bye for now. -officer

Ditto

The keychain package arrived a week or so after accepting the appointment, then the acceptance packet came with all the follow-on paperwork about 2 weeks later. The admissions officer did send a hand-written note that added a nice touch.

56 days and counting...
Bittersweet for the parents...
A dream come true for a son...
