Was surfing the net this afternoon and ran across a website which was new to me.

It list daily the DOD contracts with a value of 6.5 million or more.

http://www.defense.gov/contracts/

The link below is the contracts approved for the Air Force for today 3-27-2014 while we are waiting to find out whether or not our DD/DS's are going to be able to continue their quest to become an officer in the USAF

http://www.defense.gov/contracts/

one of he numbers $$ mentioned in the list is $5,790,000,000

definitely NOT LOL

At least March Madness starts back up this evening, that should occupy my mind through Sunday, LOL!

After reading some of the $$ numbers on that contract list it REALLY REALLY IRKS me that some of the hard working dedicated cadets are going to have to find new dreams to follow....

Wheeling and dealing among Politicians...and not sure if you ever check out the Off-Topic threads in this forum....but One of my California State Senators just got busted for gun running and campaign fraud....

Yeah I caught that on the other forum. Really nothing surprises me when it comes to a politician. Now back to watching the Dayton vs Stanford game.

Just remember, there are a lot of hard working people for those government contracts and under those companies payroll systems. Not all of it is being dumped in the furnace of waste.

Very true! I did not mean to imply that any of that money was being wasted.

My point was completely self centered...

and was that if congress is able to agree upon these large $$ number contracts...how hard should it be to decide if they want 1800 or 2200 New USAF officers for 2016 from their ROTC program.....

One thing your son will get used to while serving in the Military is waiting....and waiting.

It isn't very often that notification for just about anything is given on the first date that's published. Delays are the norm rather then the exception. This doesn't change after ROTC, the pattern continues throughout active duty, it's something he'll learn to accept but will always be a bit frustrating.

LOL

My DS is actually perfectly fine with the waiting...In fact it is me driving him crazy when I PM him regarding info that I get from this forum....

I actually got my feeling hurt last night when I PM'd him that I heard that EA's might be coming down tomorrow (today) and cut and pasted the post from the forum to his PM.

His (ungrateful and disrespectful LOL) response to me....

"I don't care, Please mom, I am trying to study"

So some things in life never change....in this case it's me that's frustrating him...not the waiting... I know he didn't get that personality trait from my side of the family.....we are all worriers....

And it's not that he doesn't care....of course he cares...but he at less than half my age understands and accepts the facts better than I that SOME things just are what they are, worrying is a thief of time, and to pick your battles wisely. I on the other hand have a tendency to come out swinging.....

Smart kid. Sounds a lot like mine. Wish we both could be as smart as them! :thumb:
