Apparently results are in! DD got active duty! Praying all of you get good news today !!!

Congratulations to your daughter. Son was told they will get the results at tomorrow's MS Class, so they get to sweat for one more day.

Congrats live4ever, your daughter's hard work has been rewarded!!!

Jcleppe - another day. Will be watching for your post about your DS.

Hope the others post soon too. This is way more fun than scholarship boards:thumb:

This is a bit off topic but...

We were visiting our son's at school this past weeken for Dad's Day, We were out to dinner with them and a few of the other cadets and their parents. One of the topics of discussion was that 3 of the current MS3's were told this week that they would not be able to commission in the spring of 2013 with the rest of the cadets because they had too many cadets commissioning, they would have to wait until the following December and commission then.

This is interesting news since I have heard that there have also been a few cadets from other battalions that were told they could not Contract due to an overage of officers. It will be very interesting to see what the AD Cutoff line is for this year. It also seems to foreshadow what is to come in the future as far as both Scholarships and AD Commissioning.

Good luck to all the cadets.

I'm a bit confused, but what else is new, huh?
DS was home this weekend and said he was above the Active Duty cutoff line...results came out Friday. Is that what we are waiting for???

But, they finalize their "scores"(??) and send everything in this week after a final counseling session.

Am I completely off base here? or is that what is going on?

Not really sure, there was word that the list was complete on Friday but they were just checking the numbers. They posted on the Cadet Command Facebook Page that the results were out today, maybe his PMS had an inside track on the list.

It will tell them a lot....

If they made the AD Cut off line
If they made the top 20% DMG
If they made the top 10%

They already announced the Number one cadet in the country, can't remember her name though.

ok. DS just said that they will be seeing the list at staff meeting tomorrow. I don't know what he was talking about last friday when he was home.

I'm thinking he was saying anything to quiet me so he could go see his girlfriend! Maybe he was talking about comparing to last year's list.

I've heard from a couple people that the AD Cutoff score was right around 72 this year, I also saw on the Cadet Command facebook page that total cutoff number for cadets was 2998, that wasn't from an official spokesman so I guess we'll see if that number is correct.

Your probably right about the comparison from past years, they told cadets at my son's school what they might expect from past years stats as well.

Curious that they would wait until Dec. Why don't they commission them and put their AD RNLT date off so their DOR would be 1 Oct.

That is how the AF does it. Not all commissioned will go AD right off the bat, some wait anywhere from 6-9 months to report. DOR being held off puts them in the next yrs group for the rest of their career. At least that's how it works for the AF.

This is exactly what happen to AFROTC in 09. Cadets with career fields and report dates were told 3 months prior to commissioning they could walk with no penalty, in other words scholarship repayment would not be forced. The following yr that was when you saw a drastic cut in scholarships and SFT slots. It has stayed that way for the past 2 yrs, even now AFA is appointing less to get their manpower needs in alignment.

I would think the issue for the Army is really going to be reflective not only due to budget constraints, but the withdrawal from Iraq/Afghanistan too. If we are not going to be there in large numbers, than where would you place them especially since the economy is in a slump which means their retention rate is higher than normal.
