Who Is Still Waiting?

@cousmma5280 - Multiple recent appointments came from noticeably large groups from the same state - MD (3 in last 2 weeks) and NC (3 in last 2 weeks) as of late. Is there anything from a policy, or procedure standpoint that would dictate that? Is it simply national wait list order of merit?

It might simply be slates were resolved when people received (or didn't receive) a waiver.

It's a combination of both.

Still Waiting? = HOLD Candidate (Must be on HOLD on their Portal)

Principal Candidates had until Friday to accept or decline their offer.

LOA's Candidates & had until Friday to resolve items on their portal.
This could include Medical Waivers, Nomination, etc.
A few candidates in my area declined the Offer within the last a couple of weeks, because of this it opened the door to other candidates in my area.

On Saturday Round 2 began.
Round 2 is HOLD Candidates pulled off of the NWL.
I began to see them appearing on my portal the day after Acceptance Day.
This will go on until either the Class of 2024 is filled or up to a week before INDOC.
Hold Candidates that are changed to Principal Candidate with have a LIMITED time to accept their Appointment (one to two weeks), sometimes only days.

Good to know sponsored preps are starting to be offered. I’m still waiting in the great state of Jor-Ja(GA)....showing Hold and I’m throttling back to max endurance in the holding pattern...waiting for “signal charlie”. I committed/accepted my NROTC Scholarship also committed to a coach and varsity team. If given an appointment to KP I’ll take it, but not looking forward to having to make the call to the coach/school and say “thanks, I’m out, appreciate all the effort being recruited etc”. But that’s part of life. Also a firm believer...the harder the conversation, the closer you need to be to that person. Aka - I’ll do it in person if possible.

Regarding some of y’all’s portals still showing ‘HOLD’ after an Appointment and/or after the 48 hour wait period mentioned in the BFE letter...

My daughter’s portal stuck with ‘HOLD’ for over a week! I think it might’ve actually been 9 days. It was an anxious time for us because it isn’t official until you officially ‘check YES or NO,’ right? That’s what we kept hearing in the back of our minds anyway 😐 She was told it would switch at some point and yep, it did but it took awhile.

From her conversations with LCDR Watson, they are aware that there are lags along the way in the portal update, with no rhyme or reason identified as of that time. Just kind of an UN-luck of the draw.

I hope all of y’all have had a great time celebrating this weekend and I’m still wishing, hoping and praying for those who are still holding steady, at the ready!
 
ICYMI The president of the Kings Point National Parents association had spoken at the end of last week that there had been a power outage and tech issues with the Admissions Portal and emails were forthcoming to those affected.
 
We are still waiting in TX - were told 2 wks ago they had an unusually large state contingent apply so we are hopeful but also realistic, getting the NROTC set as Plan B. Good luck to all the rest of us still waiting....

Austin. Our MoC contact told DS they had 169 Texas applicants - no idea if that was total list or NWL. She didn't elaborate. We are still hopeful but also realistic. Best of luck to you and your applicant!

Ted Cruz's office told us they had over 1000 apply for nomination across all SA. They only gave out around 40 which means you only had a 4% chance. It's very competitive in Texas.
