Hi kpmom2013 Thank you so much for all your excellent intel - this is the first time that I am posting on this forum for our DD 2024 hopeful. She is a recruit for the Women's LAX team. Would you be so kind as to put her on the Positive Thoughts and Prayers List? Also, is it true that at this point a majority of NWL are recruited, athletes? Also, her portal says HOLD is that the same as NWL and does everyone else's portal say NWL or HOLD? Thank you all for sharing your experience, strength and hope and All the Best to EVERYONE for a Principal Appointment Extended soon!! <3
 
Welcome @kpmom2019. Sending good thoughts and prayers for your DD. At this point, everyone still in the game should have a portal that reads HOLD. That is the same as NWL which USMMA does not technically have. No, although some remaining candidates are recruited athletes, the majority are not. Hang in there a little bit longer. Fingers crossed that you get good news soon!

TWE today. Can’t say I’m not surprised... would have thought 5 years of persistence would make for my less then stellar application though. I‘m thankful for the opportunity and how this goal has shaped me to do so many things I would never would aspired to do if it weren’t academy applications. I.E. studying engineering (two years left), running two ultramarathons (50k’s), serving two summers at a Christian Camp, and even taking on leadership roles in my college ministry. I’m so thankful to everyone in this community, it really was joy to see and read other people’s journey. Good luck to your DS/DD at Kings Point, maybe I can be fortunate enough to serve with them someday. Acta Non Verba. #BeatArmy #BeatCoastGuard

Do they get their appointments this late in the year?

I see several football players HS class 2020,,USMMA class 2024 making their announcements on thier athletic commitments to USMMA on twitter, how late will the athletic commitments go?
 
USMMA is Division Three in sports, so the rules for commitment are way different from Division One requirements. Sports recruits at USMMA, like everyone else, receive appointments at any time up until INDOC.
 
If we assume the Admissions board meets on Monday, and informs nominating authorities for opportunity of first notification, let's look at how others were notified - later in the week is more likely based on the reported info from this year's admissions cycle:

My understanding is that there is an athletic recruitment process that actually takes longer and where you would get ur appointment later than other applicants. I hope it’s true b/c our recruited athlete is still waiting too- good luck!
