My DS is in the same boat recruited athlete and waiting on a waiver, he submitted paperwork they needed on Feb 24 and still nothing.
Can anyone say is the April 15 date a hard rule?
I think it depends on the competitiveness of the candidate. But I don’t know for sure. DS is a self prep at NMMI and with the sponsored preps and I think some of them are in the same boat. This is a tough time for all those that are waiting and in some sort of limbo. But let’s all stay positive for ourselves and one another. I hope all that are waiting are in receipt of good news soon!

Looking at the trends from prior 4 years, there has historically been a decent number of appointments to go out between now and 1 May. These figures would typically include those in USMMA sponsored Prep School programs as well as self-prep. I was told they considered the class "full" on 13 MAY 2020 by a USMMA admissions rep, but a few additional slots surfaced and the latest SAF reported appointment in the prior cycle was 29 May.

What does this mean? Nothing really - past events are not necessarily indicative of future events. However one may opt to make several logical inferences.

1) There are still appointments to hand out
2) At some point within the next 45 days, expect admissions to send out non-selection letters. Some who receive this letter will feel the whiplash effect and actually be offered a slot as things shape up and other declinations come in.
3) If you have not received certainly on your status by 15 May, chances are significantly reduced but not zero.
4) USMMA has a target number of students for the class of 2025 and they will offer appointments up to the July 9th report date.

Strictly looking at the trend chart from today through the end of the Admissions Cycle for this calendar year, you can see there are decent numbers left to go. Even if the class of 2025 continues to track with the class of 2022, there are more than 10 additional appointments we could expect to be reported here. The other classes saw more than 20 appointments reported relative to their 1 April starting point.

Best of luck to all still on hold!

@shiner - As always, terrific analysis. I would only add, being this cycle has trended a month behind prior years, the last 2 classes hitting the 40 appt threshold around 1 March, that there is likely more upside in appt's between now and end of May, perhaps 30-40? Here's hopin!

DS under waiver review since December...everything is in...now just waiting. Coach asked for a status update and from what we're told, that will usually result in some definitive status update fairly quickly. Hopefully, it's good news.

how many students usually the academy accepts for graduate 2025? this dreaded hold status making us very nervous

DS is a sponsored prep at Marion Military Institute. None of the sponsored prep kids have heard anything as of yet
DS is sponsored prep at New Mexico Military Institute and none of them have heard either. (Well. . . .the PA kids have--their nomination sources have already told them but that was weeks ago)

Never heard of a prepster who, in retrospect, regretted it or felt it wasn't worth it. Or a direct admit who wasn't glad to have a prepster nearby. You must really want to be there. Congratulations.

I have been on hold since February of 2021, I completed everything with the exception of my medical waiver and have been waiting. My medical status was accepted and it has been a couple of days since this update, but I am still on hold instead of it getting accepted or not.

DS on hold since December. Both my husband and I are USMMA alumni (KP97) as well as his uncle. He already spoke to the director of admissions who said a lot of things have to go right for him to be offered an appointment. It didnt sound good. In the meantime, he was accepted to Texas A&M and Purdue so those are good back up options. Good luck to everyone.

Main campus (A&M) or TAMUG?

Main Campus for General Engineering with the hope to select Ocean Engineering or Mechanical Engineering on his second year. Kings Point is still his top choice though, so we keep waiting.
My DS also has A&M as plan B. His plan is mechanical engineering. He would attend TAMUG the first year for general engineering classes and then move to CS the second year.

. DS awaiting medical waiver clearance. Has been told admissions is holding his candidacy as open until the waiver determination is made. He’s a recruited athlete. We are on pins and needles! This momma’s stress level is way high! However we are thinking positively and are hopeful!!!
Same...got other options bit this is his 1st choice. I'm hoping this is the week we find out.
