Excellent article about the DOD schools's success including interesting reasons why they succeed so well - from implementing Common Core, to being well funded, to not reporting to a local government, and to having families who have access to housing and health care with at least one parent who has a job.

The article is misleading at best. I wouldn’t call a “success” any school where only 50% are meeting minimum level of proficiency on the core subjects. Some numbers are outright scary where only one in four students is proficient.
