Why do service academy rings end up on Ebay and other resell sites?

My apologies to all. I guess I should have known you all know all the Reacher books and understood the reference. @Capt MJ was right - probably best not to leap down that rabbit hole.

I too chuckle at Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher, whose sizable height, musculature, hand size, reach (wingspan) and strength factor heavily into the character. I like the rules Reacher comes up with.

Oops, teetering on rabbit hole edge. Stepping back. We have book threads over in Off-Topic on these favorite guys. Over the holidays, I read the latest Reacher and Mitch Rapp books.

Exactly my take. While I normally would not care very much about an actor's actual size, in the case of the Reacher character, his size/physical attributes are a major facet of the character and Tom Cruise is just the wrong guy to play him. It should be much more someone like Channing Tatum or John Cena who have the proper physicality.

A younger Clint Eastwood would have been perfect! These days my vote would be for Matthew McConaughey

At 6' 5" and 236 pounds, Joe Manganiello (who happens to be married to Sofia Vigara) plays "Deathstroke" on Justice League, and he just seems to "look" like Jack Reacher.

M y daughter got the pretty pink stone in her ring, it cracked just a few months after it was out of warranty, within a few years of graduation.I'm not sure what she has decided to do yet. The funny thing wasabout her gorgeous wedding ring, custom designed, with a lovely large stone plus other diamonds given to her by a family member . She called and said, " Mom, my horse stepped on my ring! "I of course was horrified, me, " yes but what about your hand?" She replied that she had taken it off and put it in her pocket, and of course it fell out while she was riding..The amazing thing was being in Florida there was a business of retirees using detectors to find metal. So they hired someone to find it , buried under all the footing in the arena. I guess it was in many small pieces. I encouraged her to get her to have something a little practical, so she wouldn't need to remove it all the time She just wears a gold band now...so much for two really nice rings...
