Does anyone know why the SA don't send out the majority of rejects until April? Is this because they are waiting to send it all around the same time? Or because they are still unsure if you will be a good candidate or not. What if someone is training physically for the Summer but they receive their reject in April. Then they will feel like their hard work was for nothing.

Getting into shape will help you whether you're headed for training over the summer or ROTC.

Not all offered an appointment accept, and have open offers outstanding.

They are working on medical waivers.

They are reviewing thousands of applications, trying to put pieces together with nomination sources.

No investment in your physical fitness and health is for nothing. Ever.

The SAs do a thorough, 360 degree review of all applicants, and think just as much about those they are declining as those they are accepting. It is an intentional, deliberate, comprehensive, complex process they do not rush. From their view, it is time well invested in meeting their mission of producing quality junior officers for the Fleet or Corps.

I do not want them to rush, blow past, give a cursory look, or prematurely dismiss an applicant, for the sake of the sailors and Marines their choices will one day lead and be accountable for. If it takes them to mid-April to feel settled about a candidate, I support their process.

Most are happy that such a thoughtful, thorough job is done, before being rejected. The process isnt taken lightly. And? Health and physical fitness is a good thing. Always.

You should have a solid plan B. In case you are not appointed. April 15th is the date thats published as the goal for notification. So you shouldn’t expect to know before then.
