So its 3 days before nominations must be turned into USNA and i still have not heard about a nomination, not because i did not receive one (yet), but because they simply have not made their decisions. This is killing me!! Why would the congressmen and senators do this?

Why would the congressmen and senators do this?

You will quickly come to realize that, contrary to popular opinion, this country is not divided into the rich and the poor, but rather into US (the people) and THEM (the politicians).

They do this because they CAN, and because it reminds us peasants of our place in the pecking order.

Oh, and this goes for ANY politician, regardless of party.

Be patient, brother, and get used to it. "Hurry up and wait" is a common theme throughout the Services.

I believe Noms are due to the SAs by Jan. 31. So, you should hear today or Monday at the latest.

MOCs can do anything they want re noms provided they comply with the law, which they of course wrote.:frown:

My guess -- and it is ONLY that -- is that the MOC is in the process of notifying folks and doesn't want to spill the beans over the phone.

How can this keep happening?
I THINK it, and then continue to read and Z has already WRITTEN it ( albeit he also made the point more clearly, but I don't want to dwell on that...).

Cycle, You and me both are waiting still i guess. Politics can drive everyone up a wall. And "Hurry up and wait" sounds like what I do when I'm golfing

Same dang boat

My daughter is in the same boat and I feel just as frustrated as you sound like you feel. WHAT THE HECK???? Come on...it is bad enough that she had to interview three days BEFORE Christmas...talk about having anxiety over the holidays...but we still haven't heard anything even through the applications were due mid November. I know that they CAN do this, but they SHOULDN'T.

Darlings, I know this is painful, but everybody needs to take up a new hobby or create another diversion, because guess what: you may not hear on deadline day, either. In 2006, my h.s. sr son rec'd a nomination, but his MOC never bothered to tell him. It took multiple phone calls to find out -- late in Feb (this was earlier in the online app days, and the USNA candidate site didn't reveal it 'til then, either).
Please, for the sake of your sanity: plan a spring break trip, take a Saturday class in something loony, invent a community service event. Take your mind off all this (while keeping up grades and fitness). You've done what you can do. Every day is a gift. Don't squander a single one!

Great minds, and all that jazz. :thumb:

Finally!!!!!! The wait is over! I received my nomination today! Phew, now the real wait starts haha

Yep, the real wait starts now, but you are still allowed to celebrate receiving that long awaited nomination. Congratulations! :yay:
