Nominations - Apply to all sources possible including VP,Rep, Senator, and any others you may qualify for, and communicate with the offices as much as possible. For the interviews, just truly know yourself (take some time to think introspectively) and you should be great.
CFA- Start preparing as early as possible. Run as often as you can, and do sit-ups, pushups, and pull ups every night. If you don't go to the gym already, get a friend to show you chest and back workouts. Also, make sure your form is perfect for the videos submitted to USMA.

Candidate Portal - Get everything done as quickly as possible, yet be thorough. Make sure to keep adding to your file as the year goes on.

Lastly, show demonstrated interest and keep your head up always. I got appointed in April, so I had a lot of waiting so I would suggest never paying attention to others/trying to not stress out as much as possible.

How do you recommend approaching the essays? I spoke with my FFR and he said to not master, but craft so that it is from the heart. Would you agree to that?

Also, when I submit my activities record, am I able to add to it after it has been submitted?

One last thing, it's been about 1 month since I've been under review for DODMERB and they haven't contacted me about my medical exam yet. How long did you have to wait?

Our son completed his medical questions then was provided name of Dr. and phone number. You have to call them to schedule, they will NOT call you to schedule. Good luck. :)

Personally, I thought it was best to be somewhat straight forward since I believed USMA would want a more direct essay, rather than something super creative/dancing around the question. It's really shooter's preference.

You are able to add to the activities record if you email your regional representative.

For DODMERB, I believe you need to access your portals in order to schedule the appointments and the website will take you through the process. Don't get stressed about DODMERB because it will most likely take a long amount of time.
