Will my waiver be accepted?

I have been informed by DoDMERB that I am medically disqualified for D154.20 Strabismus - Exotropia. The severity, according to my optometrist, is around 25 prism diopters. My Regional Commander has requested a waiver, but I'm worried that my Exotropia may be too severe for the waiver to be accepted.
Has anyone had, or know anyone with a similar experience?
In terms of my application, I am applying to West Point and have been 2Q'ed with a congressional nom.

Thank you very much for your help.

How does your regional commander (what is a regional commander?) request a waiver? I thought waivers requests were automatically submitted.

Maybe it's different for each academy, but for West Point I'm pretty sure the Regional Commander (the admission officer for each region) has to request a waiver for doctors at the West Point Keller hospital to evaluate. Not all DQ'ed candidates receive a waiver request.
