I currently have a 29 ACT and i have a 4.2 gpa but i got one B in Spanish 1 Freshman year. It was a 92 will this effect me much? I am a junior hoping to graduate with a 4.5 GPA.

Did you get a handle on the material, turn it around and show improvement or mastery? Your 4.2 says yes, so don't sweat it. Sometimes scars aren't disfiguring, they just show you know how to fight.

You demonstrated improvement--that is GRIT! Also, a B is not bad and a 4.2 is great!

No that B in Spanish I is nothing to worry about at all! 4.2 is great! I wouldn't give that B another thought. :)

I turned around and ended up with a 95 in Spanish 2 the next year. I was deeply upset about that grade.

Just going to throw this out there... I got a C+ in AP Physics but brought it up to an A second semester. I’m currently sitting with an LOA and nomination. Your B will be fine, show some grit and make sure your grades stay strong. When you do fall short, focus on showing improvement.

Please. I know a boy who had mediocre grades including 'C's as a freshman and sophomore--who turned himself around for straight A's for junior and senior year--after visiting the service academy of his dreams and being reminded that he was about to lose his shot. Made for a fantastic essay. True grit.

My son took a few college classes while he was in high school. He got a c/c+ in one of them (don't recall which class but it was a STEM class). And no, he didn't have only As on the rest of his transcript. He was accepted to WP(he's a firstie now) so I'd say that a B isn't going keep you out of WP. Something else might, but it won't be one grade.
