Will the USNA disclose the total number of nominees once the 1/31 deadline passes?

I assume it is pretty constant at almost 6,000 from all the nominating sources. But some older threads have stated years where it was much lower. I would think that would greatly improve chances for those placed into the National Pool.

It's usually not published until after the plebe class is inducted.

Nominees & nominations aren't the same thing. USNA does publish nominations by PPW each year - that's the 6,000+ number referenced. However, the number of nominees is more in the 4,000 range so, on average, each nominee has ~1.5 nominations. That probably makes sense with many with Sen. And Pres. Moms also have a Rep. nom. Neither the number of nominations nor the number of nominees really should really change much from year-to-year. The number of appointments, however, will change based on target class size and expected acceptance rates.

I know the number of nominations in my district has gone way up over the last few years. Several years ago almost none of my MOC slates were full. A few academies had just a couple of nominations. Since last year the number of noms is almost, if not all, at capacity. I think all the publicity the academies are doing has greatly increased interest where just a few years ago, many kids didn't even know about them.
