After taking my finals, I ended up having 2 B+'s in AP English Language and Spanish III. I have A's in the rest of my classes however, I would like to know how harmful this is to the academic portion of my application.

Doesn't matter. What's done is done. Control what you can, don't worry about what you can't.

It's not going to end up being too detrimental. It's a couple of B+'s, which are just short of an A-, so it's not as big of a decrease as you might think.

That being said, do what you can to make them up. In this upcoming semester, keep your grades up in that A range.

DS1 had a couple of semester B+s, one in a math course, and received an appointment. It's the whole package, not single grades. Strive to bring them up next semester!

There are many students with straight A's and 1600 SAT's who are not accepted. The application is a "total package." Many important parts, like EC's, Sports, Community Service, Leadership positions, summer activities, physical fitness, medical, on and on. So don't worry about B's in AP classes for sure. All you can do is do your best. If you have done your best, don't worry about anything. But everyone should have a Plan B, C, D and E.
