Anyone who’s gotten them out before- when can you go back to heavy weightlifting/ fitness? Also, would I most likely be fine going on a 3 hour flight 48 hours after surgery?

Yea you should be fine to fly. Just make sure you don't take the sleepy meds right before you get to the airport or you'll be falling asleep while waiting in line to get radiated & groped by TSA.

Please reach out to the Oral Surgeon or Dentist to answer this question. They commonly have a document that answers these questions. None of us should be providing medical or dental advice online.

^ I would also say it varies person to person, including factors like risk tolerance. Personally, I took a couple extra days even after I felt normal to work back into my workout, but that's because I really could not afford to deal with complications at the time.

My wisdoms were extracted in the day when Motrin was emerging as a treatment for everything. I was in pain later in the day and my Chief who could have and would have issued me narcotics was on leave. I thought it was a good idea to self medicate with adult beverages, and with a couple shipmates went to Hotel Street in Honolulu. One thing led to another and we went to Wo Fat’s to eat. To shorten the story a bit, I caused a dry socket due to not following post-op instructions.

Lessons Learned: (1) Follow post-op instructions (2) Stay away from Wo Fat’s
