Hello, I am currently a candidate for two service academies. I decided to withdraw my application to AF Academy and regretted it. Can I start a new application?

Wow, is all I have to say here.

A good lesson for others applying to Class of 2023, regardless of academy: This process is a marathon, not a sprint. It will have ups and downs. And it requires clear and deliberate thinking.

I say this because of a couple recent posts, in which candidates described how they acted rashly, maybe even recklessly, and were then regretting it.

So please learn from these people. Take your time completing the many steps. Fill in the blanks carefully. Always put your best foot forward in the time given. Hard to fathom at age 17 or 18, but you’re doing things now that could impact you for a lifetime.

Is it ok to ask what made you decide to withdraw your application? Was it based on your future goals/career after you graduate from the academy (you initially wanted to be a pilot and then changed your mind)? The Air Force academy did not have the degree you initially wanted to pursue?
