As the title says, I'm a plebe right now. I just finished my final exams (aka Term End Exams or TEEs). Plebe year is almost over and only have a little over 1 week left until graduation for the class of 2016. Since the year is almost over, I started reflecting on the past year and felt that I should share some few words. Future members of the Class of 2020, congratulations on your appointments. Receiving mine in February of 2015 was possibly the best day of my life. Enjoy the last several weeks you have. Hang out with friends, eat good food, and work out. Don't do anything dumb and definitely show up to Beast in good shape. A lot of plebes right now will probably say Beast was a blur. You show up and basically become mindless because you are always told what to do. Beast isn't that hard. It's a lot of mind games and running. Try not to stand out too much and screw over your classmates. Help out others as much as you can. Once you get through Beast, you will be accepted into the Corps. The academic year will go by so quickly. All of the work will make time fly by so fast. I'm kind of surprised that I'm almost a yearling. Again, congrats and good luck! If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!

Glad you were able to Beat the Dean. Good luck on your upcoming yearling year.

What did you do to get in shape for Beast? Can you give us some sense of what fitness level you were upon entering (if that makes sense). Thanks!

On the CFA, I got average on everything. Second semester of my senior year in high school, I kind of let myself go. On the first APFT during Beast, I think I got around 45 push ups, 55 sit ups, and 14:30 two mile. I got 11 or 12 pull ups on R-Day. Going in, I wasn't in the best shape. Beast wasn't hard on push ups and sit ups. For some people, all of the training helped improve their push ups and sit ups, but for others, including me, didn't really help me. However, my running improved a lot. You don't need to a stud for Beast, but I think if you prepare yourself as much as possible, it will help in the long run.
