Hey all! I was just recently accepted into Westpoint and I have a more niche question for past and current cadets. How much time is there for voluntary workouts in a typical day? I love weightlifting and I would love to continue at Westpoint.
Thanks!

As a plebe white space during the academic day for a workout will most likely be too small. I usually see plebes working out in the evening. This past Academic Year, there were beaverfits/connexes outside of every barracks; however, I am unsure if this will remain the same now that Arvin seems to be up and running again. Regardless, unless you are on a team plan on working out in the evenings.

Or early mornings. There’s time in the schedule if you’re disciplined enough to find it

What is Arvin?

There is plenty of time to work out. West Point has a great exercise/lifting culture and a lot of different places to exercise. Arvin Gym has several weight rooms that we can use along with pools, Hayes Gym (IOCT), and a solid cardio room.

There is more than enough time in the day to do whatever your heart desires. You just need to make priorities and understand that sometimes you're going to have to sacrifice a workout or another activity for schoolwork. Some cadets prioritize fitness over academics, which is feasible to an extent. You will be able to figure out a routine that works for you once you get here.
