Hello all!

My BGO and I agreed that we would have my interview around December 30-Jan 5 as I return to college on the 10 and when I sent a follow up email 8-10 days after, there was no response. I understand that this time of year is busy due to holidays and family, however I’m worried that I may not be able to get my interview done before I leave.

I understand the BGO has many candidates to interview and has their own life, however I hope they don’t forget to do the interview with me!

Would it be possible to have my BGO interview via zoom or Skype?

I don't see why a virtual interview wouldn't be a good alternative if in person doesn't work out. I'd ask your BGO just in case

When I agree to an interview, I confirm by e Mal or text the date, day, location and time. Then I put it on my calendar. Perhaps e mail the BGO and ask or suggest a couple of dates, time slots and the location.

I’m hoping BGO may have read my email and soon send me a confirmation of when to do the interview, however will do another follow up email if there is no response by the 31st. I sent 2 follow up emails regarding time and date and there has been no response .

Do you have a phone number for him/her? Perhaps you'd have more luck calling?
Good tip.

The age of email and texting has its pros and cons. So convenient, but less personal and easy to put off. I wonder if it has any significant effect on the development of social skills in young people who overly rely on it. When I was younger I used to get nerves calling anyone. Had to grow out of that because talking on the phone is still a vital skill for any professional.

Both my sons had successful BGO interviews virtually since the interviewer lived outside our area due to work commitments.
