Worst case scenario-When would we be notified?

DS has started a second job to pay for his remains flight lessons come spring. He has also developed an interest in financial markets and opened a mutual fund and a 401k account to invest money for future :)
He has been accepted to all 8 colleges he has applied and he is now waiting to hear from USAFA. He seems to be quite relaxed as his plan B is solid. He is our first kid going to college so it’s little stressful for us but this forum has been so helpful.
We are planning to visit Purdue and IU, Urbana, in two weeks and we are going to stay two nights in Chicago downtown, kind of mini vacation:)
If he winds up at Purdue feel free to keep in touch because it’s nice to know someone in the town where your kid lands.:)

Definitely email your RC and ask if you're 3Q'd.
It can be a long roller coaster ride until you know for sure. DS heard nothing until a rejection email appeared in his portal on 4-12 last year. He received a TWE on 4-15. On 4-17 he accepted his ROTC scholarship and sent in a housing deposit to his second choice, and on 4-18 I got a call from his high school principal telling me DS was in his office being offered an appointment to USMA. I have a picture of him holding both his TWE and BFE.
In his case he was second on his congressional slate. I'm guessing number one changed his mind after accepting. It's rare, but I can attest to the fact that it happens.
Oh geez!!!! Is this process designed to teach people like me that you can’t plan or predict anything?!

DS was medically disqualified 4/24/2017 from the class of 2021 for being less than 12 months post ligament surgery. The DODMERB exam was 11/21/216. The waiting is the hardest part. He is admissible this year but not 3Q yet. Idk why. He has a nomination. We're still being told he is competitive.

I think my ds is waiting on his remedial to be processed because they asked for info about a fractured finger he had in the 4th grade. Any time I ask questions about it he says that just stresses him out more. He’s adamantly done the whole process himself. He’s got two noms. I’m essentially clueless about it all except for what I read on here. Sometimes I read things and think, wow, I think he’ll get in! Then I read other things and think, wow, there is no way he’ll get in! I truly knew nothing about any of this a year ago—not even where any of the schools are! When my oldest went to college we knew in November of senior year that he’d gotten a presidential scholarship and that he’d be attending IU. It’s so weird to be into February and have no idea. He’s accepted to Purdue abs IU and going to schedule overnight visits with both ROTC programs—but that’s a whole other thing I know nothing about!

Your weekend plans are perfect! Enjoy your daughter and spend as much time as you can with her. I miss my sweetie everyday. :wiggle:
She is our last one at home. My wife and I have already discussed how much we will love having time to ourselves and how much we are going to miss having at least one kid around. If she ends up at WP, she will be closer to her brother and sister who live in Portland, ME than to us. Our 3rd child will be the only one living close to us.

I was with my 3rd son while driving to swimming sectionals yesterday for 75 minutes. Glorious talk and information about his plans in his life. It’s been a tough year for him with his best friend brother moving to USMA and one of his best friends tragically passing away in November. He has amazingly kept his grades up and spirit is healing but will forever be a changed person.

He plans on boarding the academy roller coaster ride this summer. I am already looking into motion sickness pills for me!

Enjoy those kids! I miss all of mine who have left the nest.

Purdue is an awesome school! Boo to the remedial. My junior son has had 2 broken bones and I was hoping they were long enough ago there wouldn’t be drama. One when he was 2 and one when he was 5.

I think it will be processed quickly because he didn’t even need to contact the doctor. He just answered some questions about it. If a broken finger tip at recess in 4th grade is enough to dq him then heck, I don’t know where they’re finding the people that get in!

It's nice to see others with the same worries. My DD finally got a remedial, we got all the required info sent today and they responded with it could be 30 days or longer for it to process. So with that being the case it this going to hurt her chances of getting in since it will be March 15 before it will be processed? She received a 2Q letter the other day. She has her back up plan in place so I am not worried there, just worried that this late process will hurt her.

I thought I would post back in this thread that the OP posted elsewhere that DD received her BFE last night.
How about that! A happy ending.
