My DS was hospitalized a few days with HSP when he was 7 years old. He was treated with steroids and he recovered almost immediately and hasn't had any issue since then. He is Sophomore in high school now and thinking about applying to SAs in the future. Would having had this history be reason for DQ?
Would having an incident of henoch schonlein purpura (HSP) be reason for DQ?

Disqualifying. Page 38 of the standard http://www.dtic.mil/whs/directives/corres/pdf/613003p.pdf. But.... The better question would be "what are my chances of a waver for HSP". Since your DS had it when they were young, no reoccurance, no permanent damage, etc. I don't see why any service would have an issue with it.
