I am planning a visit to West Point next weekend and I was just curious if anyone knew how long it takes to get from WP to LaGuardia Airport in NYC.

Driving or using public transportation? If you are driving a car rental then it depend on the time of day - plan on 1-1/2 -2 hours to be safe, you also need to allow time to get the rental at the counter etc.....

Do you have a plan? You have to take the train into the city then get out to LGA. I am not sure - does the subway go out there or do you have to take a bus?
At least 2 hours, I would think, maybe longer.

From a previous thread I posted this:
Take the subway or the shuttle bus (http://www.nyairportservice.com/) from JFK to Grand Central Station. Then take the Metro-North train to the Garrison station (http://as0.mta.info/mnr/schedules/sched_form.cfm ). Then take a taxi from the train station to West Point.

The shuttle bus also has a route from LaGuardia to Grand Central. Take the time your flight arrives, add on time for getting your bag, then check these links to see what time(s) the bus and/or train run. If you use the subway to get from LaGuardia to Grand Central, you can find that schedule online also. You should be able to estimate how much time you need.

When I used this route in October, my plane arrived at JFK around 6 a.m. and I was in Garrison by noon. I would have been able to make an earlier train and shaved at least an hour off my time, but I spent some time getting breakfast in Grand Central.
