Ye Old March Thread, (USAFA Waiting/General Chat CO 2030)

Aw, yes March lol. Makes me both happy and extra nervous. I go from thinking my son has such a great chance to it’s just not happening. Mostly concerned about his ACT score and possibly lack of rigorous classes. For reference, he scored a 29, is in his 2nd AP class (school only offers 3) and is taking Calculus, Comp, advanced German. He has taken lots of what his school calls CP (college prep) but just not sure it will be enough. Time will tell and now sooner rather than later.

Seems like it's mostly just been LOA admission offers up to this point. Hopefully the regular admissions will start coming in greater numbers soon. Hard to believe I've only been waiting a month.
My best guess would be that they will do their selections/board process this week/next week. Hopefully results go out a few days after that.

Good luck to all waiting! We were in your shoes last year and my daughter found out on March 5th! We were at her sporting event when she got the call and I still remember it so clearly! She’s doing well, has found her people and has absolutely no regrets! I was initially worried that she wouldn’t get a “real” college experience, but baby girl is fine! She’s joined a few clubs and has gone out and beyond the Colorado Springs area. Fingers crossed to everyone waiting!

Things to do while waiting:

1. Travel to China and see how many bricks there are in total on the Great Wall then travel to the nearest government facility and ask for a free internship. When they ask you for a resume, give them an American flag and a job application to the CIA.
2. Start a watch collection with only watches owned by the Saudi royals. This will only cost you around ~200 million USD.
3. Finish the entire Star Wars sequel trilogy without cringing (Note: this may be impossible)
4. Apply for a job at the CIA and under "preferred name" put "Jack Ryan" (trust me)
5. Write a letter to the president and tell him that his golf swing needs serious work.
6. (continuation of #5) hire Tiger Woods's coach and send him the address to the White House.
6. Build an aircraft carrier from scratch.
7. Build a nuclear submarine from scratch.
8. Build an F-37 for Lockheed Martin, then get a free job (you don't even need to go to a service academy if you land this one)
9. Ask Tim Cook for a free phone.
10. Vote for Harrison Ford in the elections.
11. Pull an "Air Force One" and tell your Uber driver to "get off my plane"
12. Drive to a donut shop, buy a dozen donuts, and eat them all.
13. Go to McDonalds and ask for no meat on your burger.
14. Call Santa (I forgot the phone number; a simple google search away)
15. Call Santa again.
16. See #15
17. You're still here? See #15 and #16.
18. Put on a full suit with tie and start running pretending you're Tom Cruise from a Mission Impossible movie.
19. Build a PC so powerful it can calculate the entirety of the universe.
20. Speak in a British accent for an entire day and confuse everyone.

I called Santa, he said mass appointments should start tomorrow.

...don't quote me on that.

Its going well! Nervous but also excited after the long wait! I am just wondering when USAFA will start releasing the waves of appointments? Maybe this week? Or the next? We will see!
Greetings!

How is it going for everyone right now? Hope everything is gonna be okay for everyone!

Good to hear you are doing well! I started to get nervous since last months, lol. This is exciting and suspense at the same time, HAHHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Anyone start to hear anything yet?
I'm hoping the majority of appointments may start coming out soon, but so far haven't heard anything myself.
Honestly just getting tired of having to explain to people why I haven't heard anything and that it's normal that the academy makes us wait this long.
Idk, just a bit restless I guess.

One exercise for helping to bear the wait stoically is to consolidate and cross reference all of the self-reports from USAFA, USMA and USNA into a single spreadsheet which allows you to see the overall Accept/Will Accept/Undecided/Decline across all three including those who received appointments at more than one service academy. The score so far (as of 10:00 11-Mar-26):

Unless there is some reason that USAFA appointees do not self-report at the same rate as the other schools, it would seem that USAFA has made less appointments overall than USMA and USNA at this time.

Thanks to all of those who have taken the time to self report their appointments!

I think that we are all (parents and kids) feeling the same as you. Try your best to keep busy at school and with other things in life. For well-meaning people who ask questions, we've started saying "April or May" as when we expect to hear back, so they at least stop asking in the meantime. Non-military grandparents seem to have an especially hard time understanding this process.
