Does anyone know about Yearbooks? I received an order form for pictures of my Mid for this year's book. Do Mid's have to purchase the book? Do we get some information on the purchase? I asked my Mid and he doesn't know anything about a Yearbook. Or is this a scam? They had pictures of my son.

Adding to that...do they take a "formal" picture of each mid that we could purchase, or do you have to set that up with a company that takes pics at the USNA? Or doesn't this even exist. This is all new to me.

I know my mid was scheduled last week to go have his picture taken for the yearbook, it was scheduled for him...he/we didn't need to worry about it.

None of this is a scam. The information the you all received if for inclusion in the LuckyBag. The LuckyBag (USNA's Yearbook) contracts with that company for their portraits and The Lucky Bag mid's photography staff photographs many of the functions on the yard.

Ever Midshipman will reveive a yearbook each year, although the Firstie Class year means much more. The fee for the Luckybag is one of those fixed item deductions from their pay.

We have not yet received the Class of 2010 book.

The pictures that are taken of the mids for inclusion in the Lucky bag are taken in their parade dress uniforms. One seating will have a blue background with cover off, the other with cover on and flag in the background. Firstie portraits are taken in parade blues with no cover for use in their 1/6th page section. They also have pictures taken in their SDB with correct striping, in front of the USA flag, sword out in front with hands crossed so that you can see the ring. One in Cover another without cover.

All Mids MUST purchase all yearbooks during their years. Each year each Mid gets his/her picture taken and it will be offered for sale to parents. Always formal head shots some w/ some w/o hats ....

Just received link to look at proofs (from my Mid) online. Herff Jones is photographer. You will have option to purchase each and every year. These are the yearbook fotos.

There is also a major, big time photographer who will take photos about the Yard. Stan Stearns Fine Photography. These are NOT yearbook shots, but are wonderful. He's the guy who took the saluting photo of John John as JFK's casket passed. May require a minor 2nd mortgage. lol

Yearbooks are sent to your Mid. Lucky Bags may require a small forklift to move. Quite the productions.

Should our mids be sending us the info to order a picture? Just curious. We are lucky if our DS sends us an email! :yllol:

I got my picture proofs from Herff Jones. We are suppose to pick a picture for the "YearBook" You could call them at 800-724-0452 and see where they are mailing your proofs.
