Son (Yearling) is thinking about asking a young lady to YWW. Aside from travel, what are the logistics involved? Where do most Cadets arrange to have their dates stay? In town / on post? (Cost in town could be prohibitive!) Does WP run busses to get dates / couples to/ from the vairous activities? Does the Cadet Hostess have a role in finding places to stay for dates on post. Is this in her job description? Any insight appreciated here!

Well besides travel, he will need a place to stay and some places he plans on taking her. Yearlings are on pass that weekend and the events for YWW don't occur until saturday evening so the rest of the weekend is usually spent taking the date around New York City, West Point, or any areas close enough to get to that are of interest.

There is a large variety of places to stay. Some of my friends are getting hotels in New York City, some close to USMA, and some renting houses with their other friends. It all depends on what your son's plans and budget are.

As far as who's role it is for plan/pay for stuff, that's between your son and his date. A plane ticket, transportation, two nights at a hotel, and entertainment for two can be rather expensive.
