Yet another waiver question

Hello,
I have yet another waiver question (as you could most likely tell by the title)

At the moment I am applying for both the Air Force and Naval Academies.

I am disqualified for history of Allergy Immunotherapy within the past year (I take allergy shots roughly once a week). I also have braces but those were not mentioned as disqualification reasons (so I'm guessing I slipped under the net there or something).

From what I understand the Air Force Academy requires a written letter of request for a waiver. What should this letter include and how likely is this waiver?

I underwent a Methacholine challenge to ensure that I do not have asthma (passed with flying colors) so that Isn't an issue.

Also, I will have my braces off in time for BCT should I get accepted. Will it be a problem at all otherwise?

Thank you for your help!

Upon review of my DODMERB page my status for the Air Force Academy now says "Pending Waiver Submission/Review" where it had said disqualified yesterday. What does this mean?

BrisngrEthri - If you send me an email Larry.Mullen@dodmerb.tma.osd.mil, I can more accurately address your specific case. I await your email with your full name and last 4 of your SSN.

The Academies are in a transition. None of the Academies require you to write a letter requesting a waiver anymore. The catalogs will catch up with that change of policy next year. "If" you are competitive for an offer of appointment AND you were medically determined by DoDMERB to NOT meet medical accession standards, then the Admissions offices will direct the medical folks to process you for medical waiver consideration.

Your braces will NOT be a problem "if" they will be removed before I-Day for the USAFA and/or USNA.

Again, I await your email:thumb:
