My subject line is not meant to belittle SFC Bellavia’e actions. Sometimes it can be hard to judge who the hero will be. Looking at this guy’s resume picture in his tie and jacket... who would know.
I’m reminded of the guy across the street from me growing up. He was a shy, geeky engineer for Grumman. Always out front mowing his lawn in his black socks with thick glasses. Only after he died did I learn he was a 20 year old SFC who earned his Silver Star in the Hurtgen Forest.
